Gordon Setters Net Room

Net Room for Gordon Setters Lovers

Hi all,
I have a small question. Is it common to let the gordon setters be tested for PRA? I know that Irish setters are tested for this disorder.
Are gordon setters frequent carriers?
I think about testing our trio ;-)
This testing isn´t common in the Czech Republic.
Thank you all for any answer.

Hi Darja, this is what is talked about now since weeks under
the discussion :
Letter in the Dog Press concering Blindness in Gordons

I hope we get more informations from UK during the next weeks. Only than I think we
can finally find a testing poss for Gordons which show correct results.

Dear Darja
There is a lot of information about the work that is progress looking at late onset PRA in Gordons.
Please look on the GSA web site: www.gordonsetterassociation.co.uk
On the home page there click on Gordon setter health to find this information.

Most of the new information relating to PRA on the www.gordonsetterassociation.co.uk website can be found by first click on Organisations then choose Breed Council. The initial information regarding PRA is as Maggy states by click on Gordon Setter Health.

The British Gordon Setter Club also has a Health page about PRA on their website and some different information all of which may be of help.
